Unsolved Disappearance
Rachel Geraldine Pratt, 15, went missing from Garden City, Kansas, on January 16, 1995.
Rachel was last seen inside her family's home at approximately 1:00 a.m. Her mother came home at about 2:00 a.m. and discovered Rachel was gone. She waited all night for her daughter to come home, and at approximately 5:00 a.m., she heard a car drive by and recognized it. It was Rachel's boyfriend's car, but Rachel never came inside.
Rachel's belongings were left at her house, including her identification.
Rachel had always respected her curfew and had never run away from home. She was also a good student and was involved in several school activities. From all outward appearances, there was no reason to leave home.
Rachel was a freshman, and she had started dating an 18-year-old senior. Her mother found out Rachel was pregnant when she had been arrested for trying to steal a pregnancy test from Walmart. Her mother pressed charges against Rachel's boyfriend and Rachel was scheduled to testify against him at an upcoming trial.
Rachel's boyfriend denies having anything to do with Rachel's disappearance, but remains a person of interest in the case.
