Peter Achermann

Peter Achermann, 82, went missing on July 24, 2009, from Staples, Minnesota.

Peter was leaving his house to run errands and was last seen on Warner Road by the Crow Wing River bridge between noon to 1:00 p.m.

The next day, his light blue 1995 Chevrolet Caprice station wagon was found stuck in mud about 10 miles from his home in a wooded area off County Road 32.

Peter had bought groceries and picked up prescription medication for his wife of 50 years.  Everything was found inside his car, except for his cane and keys that were missing. The terrain was rough and full of brush that would have made it difficult for him to get far.

Peter was in good health when he disappeared and did not suffer from dementia or Alzheimer's Disease. He only had $30 on him when he vanished along with his identification and green card. Peter has eleven children, thirteen foster children and twenty three grandchildren. He is loved and missed.
