Fugitive William Joseph Greer

William Joseph Greer is wanted by the U.S. Marshals and Harris County Sheriff's Office in Tex.,  for murdering his girlfriend Tammy Marie Esquivel on December 19, 2006.

Greer had been arrested for wandering intoxicated and nude in Cleveland, Tex. During the arrest for public intoxication, in his stupor, Greer made a confession that he had accidentally killed his girlfriend while using drugs. Believed to simply be ramblings and without evidence of a murder, he was released by authorities.

A week later, Greer's sons, ages 9 and 13 came forward and told police they had heard Greer and Esquivel fighting, then a gunshot that substantiated Greer's own claims he had murdered his girlfriend. When the residence was searched, police found evidence of murder but did not find the body of Esquivel. A warrant was issued for Greer's arrest and he was indicted for murder in March 2007.

Greer was born September 17, 1965. He is described as a white male, 5' 10" height, approximately 200-220 lbs, with green eyes and brown hair. He has been known to dye his hair blonde and shave his head. He may also be wearing a beard or goatee. He has scars on left forearm and left thigh and missing the second toe on his right foot. He is known to be a chain-smoker and addicted to alcohol and cocaine.

Greer is considered armed and dangerous.

William Greer was arrested in November 2017 following a joint operation by the United States Marshall's Office, the Harris County Sheriff's Office and Mexican authorities in a remote city in the southern state of Tabasco.

At the time of his arrest, Greer was going by an alias in remote Nacajuca, a Mexican town in the Yucatan peninsula near the Guatemala border. He was living with a woman and two children and detained without struggle as he went to pick up the children at school.
