Ashley Fuller Reed, 19, went missing from Garland, Texas, on January 14, 1990.
Ashley had planned on meeting two men for dinner on the 14th of January. Her family didn't know the men and only had the names Dave and Robert. They were supposed to meet at the International House of Pancakes (IHOP) at Military Parkway and Interstate 635 in Dallas, Texas. Ashley also told her family that she might travel to Corsicana, Texas, with friends and would call when she arrived.
A witness reported to police that they saw Ashley at the IHOP talking to an unidentified man. He was described as a white male, about 6' foot tall, and with weight ranging from 175 to 200 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He had a nice, clean appearance and was wearing a beige Western-style jacket with elbow patches, a cowboy hat, and boots.
Ashley has never been seen again.
Ashley was driving a brown Chevrolet Citation found the following day on the freeway ramp at Military Parkway and LBJ Freeway. The hazard lights were left on and by the time the car was found, the battery had died. The car was only a quarter mile from the IHOP. Her driver's seat was pushed up like she kept it, and her keys and purse were missing.
Two men who were fishing reported finding Ashley's purse in a gravel pit filled with water near the Trinity River and Bois d'Arc Road. They said they had looked inside and saw papers with Ashley's name on them. However, when authorities went to locate the purse, they could not find it.
Ashley was a student at Harding High School in Minnesota. She had planned to go the University of Minnesota at St. Cloud to study pre-law, but then decided to move to Texas with her mother and brother in 1989. Ashley was a cheer leader and honor roll student, president of the student council, and was on the school's newspaper and integration committees. When she moved to Texas she began working for JoJo's Restaurant in Addison, Texas.
Foul play is suspected in this case.
